Director Of Marketing

Primary Responsibilities

Enhance the short-term and long-term revenue trajectory of the company by analyzing internal and external variables, designing growth strategies, and implementing initiatives.

Activities include:

  • Direct daily operations of the marketing department, managing team members, budgets, resources, processes and external collaborators
  • Develop growth strategies through an analysis of external considerations (customers, competition, economics, demographics) and internal factors (financial goals, internal competencies, assets)
  • Design and implement an annual marketing plan for the company, and for the company’s multiple branch locations throughout the United States and Canada
  • Identify opportunities for new products, services or line extensions, and then lead cross functional teams to commercialize them
  • Optimize all facets of the price waterfall, from adjusting list prices to refining volume discounts and creating promotional pricing programs
  • Enhance sales force effectiveness through the development of talk tracks, detail aids, samples, training programs, and other sales collateral
  • Direct the Marketing Communications team in the design and production of collateral, websites, social media and other communication assets.
  • Partner with Clinical Education to plan and implement continuing education programs and other industry events such as trade shows and study clubs
  • Contribute to the annual strategic planning process

QUALIFICATIONS:

Management Experience – A minimum of 5 years of marketing management experience. Successful leadership, project management, and mentoring experience.

Functional Experience--Proven track record of achieving revenue growth goals, in a marketing capacity. Experience in the major disciplines of the marketing mix: sales force effectiveness, pricing, product and service development and marketing communications.

Marketing 2.0 Experience – Strong understanding of utilizing information technologies, such as CRM software, email marketing, SEO, SEM, and social media channels, to enhance the effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives.

Strategic Experience – Has crafted a strategic vision and articulated complex subject matter into understandable and actionable annual plan. Has experience communicating complex strategic information for executive level viewing. Proven facility in using quantitative and qualitative analysis to derive growth strategies and implement them in a practical and actionable fashion.  

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Masters Degree in Marketing and ten years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

BA/BS or equivalent. Masters/MBA desirable. Dental industry or healthcare industry experience preferred.

Ceramist

Thorough understanding of morphology and functional design in both anterior and posterior restoration essential for full arch/full mouth cases. Start-to-finish proficiency in all aspects of ceramics: build-up, grind-in, contour, full anatomy, contacts and metal/porcelain margins.

Full Contour Waxer

Posses the skills needed to fabricate full contour wax-ups with attention to detail to the natural morphology of anterior and posterior teeth.

PFM Waxer

Posses the skills needed to fabricate metal substructures with an understanding of the natural morphology of anterior and posterior teeth with the understanding of attachments and key ways.

Inside Sales Representative

Responsible for selling Dental Laboratory services to new clients and growing business of existing client in assigned territory via the telephone. Utilizing provided leads and customer lists, achieve monthly quotas for bringing on new business as well as reviving clients who used to use the Company for laboratory services. Utilize company CRM and other databases to clearly document calls, conversations and commitments. Work closely with Field Sales Personnel, Dental and Technical Services, and New Client Services Representatives to ensure customer’s orders are fulfilled timely. Work closely with Marketing to promote special offers to clients and potential clients in assigned territory.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieve monthly quotas for bringing on new doctors (those who have never used the company)
  • Achieve monthly quotas for reviving former clients
  • Achieve other goals related to Inside Sales as established from time-to-time
  • Achieve daily, weekly and monthly outbound sales goals
  • Thoroughly document all calls in Company CRM and/or other similar data base used by the Company
  • Promote Clinical Education upcoming events to new and existing clientele with the intent of filling programs
  • Work with both Service Divisions to set appointments for both Field and Field Management personnel
  • Work with Marketing to obtain leads and to promote special offers and promotions into assigned territory
  • Actively participate in trainings designed to increase company, industry and product knowledge as well as improve selling skills
  • Required to produce daily/weekly/monthly call/activity reports
  • Adhere to/follow company sales processes and policies
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-3 years of experience with high-volume telephone based inside sales (50+ calls per day) with proven ability to meet or exceed quotas

  • Strong utilization of CRM and or MRP tools (Sales Force, ACT, Goldmine or equivalent)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Outstanding follow-through
  • Customer service driven
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems quickly and thoroughly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors Degree or equivalent desired
Experience in the dental field a strong advantage

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

CDT, MDT, RDT, RDH, CDA, RDA or equivalent is a plus
